Standardization of SCPS

In 1991, the Consultative Committee for Space Data Systems entered into a cooperative arrangement with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Under this arrangement, CCSDS Recommendations are advanced to Subcommittee 13 within Technical Committee 20 (Aircraft and Space Vehicles) where, via the normal ISO procedures of review and voting, they are progressed into full International Standards. The CCSDS SCPS Blue Book Standard Recommendations have the ISO nomenclature below.

The SCPS protocol suite at one time had MIL-STD equivalents, but the DOD dropped these in lieu of the ISO/CCSDS documents.
